The Pilgrimage was due to arrive in Bolton on Tuesday 15 June 1926. Pilgrims from Preston were expected to arrive in time for the demonstration planned in the Town Hall Square at 6:45pm. This was to be followed by a mass meeting in the Victoria Hall. From Bolton it was expected that some pilgrims would continue, with their banners, by train down to London in time for the final rally in Hyde Park on 19 June .
