Pilgrims from York were joined by about sixty from Leeds as they arrived at Doncaster on 1 June 1926. They were welcomed by a civic reception, followed by tea at the Mansion House. Later that evening a service for peace was held at Doncaster Parish Church followed by a demonstration.
