A large meeting of about 1000 people was held in Plymouth Market Square on the evening of Monday 31 May 1926. The gathering, which was presided over by Miss Hatty Baker, was held to discuss the Peacemakers’ Pilgrimage. The model resolution on law, not war, which was being put to meetings up and down the country, was passed overwhelmingly.
