The local paper reported that a huge No More War demonstration took place on Saturday, 29 July 1922. The protesters gathered in Lister Park, despite the rain. A resolution condemning war was passed and solidarity greetings were expressed with other demonstrations taking place that day. In nearby Leeds a procession of about 100 marched to Woodhouse Moor. The Women’s International League banner and other emblems of peace were carried.
