The local paper announced plans for a mass No More War demonstration to be held in the Corporation Field in Hull on Sunday, 30 July 1922. The speakers at the many platforms included Sylvia Pankhurst and Major Vasey, Liberal candidate for East Hull. Resolutions for peace would be moved and seconded simultaneously and it was intended that all the supporters would vote exactly at the same moment.

A procession was planned to start in Paragon Square at a quarter to two, and it was hoped that all in sympathy would join the procession at any convenient point along the route.
